The Tennessee Technology Center at Knoxville was founded in 1966 by the State Board of Education. The Knoxville school was operated by the Knoxville City School System under contract with the Tennessee Board of Education from 1966-1984, when the operation was assumed by the Tennessee Board of Regents. During the 32 year history of the school, the Tennessee Technology Center at Knoxville has served thousands of area citizens by providing job training and placement.
